Sestusbun

"Setsubun" is a ceremony held on February 3rd, the day before spring.

<- ( That's a scary face, isn't it....?)

People scatter roasted soy beans in order to drive away Japanese goblins (bad luck) and draw in happiness.
Usually one of the family member puts a goblin mask on, and others throw roasted soy beans at him/her. People collect and eat the same amount of beans as their age, expressing the wish for good health. ( I was a goblin in our family a couple of times. It HURTS!! If I were a bad luck goblin, I would go away from the family for sure!)
